"Gorday" House

In January of 2,000 we completed and sold our first speculation home.  The house is a 2200 square foot timber frame home on a great lot located between Lakes Rabun and Tallulah right here in Rabun County, GA.  We really explored our love for the Arts & Crafts period with this California Bungalow styled house.  The timber frame features an old growth pine finish, real hand cut mortise and tenon joinery, bead board decking, and two timbered dormers.  The house, in general has three bedrooms, three full baths, a large vaulted living area, eat in kitchen, an office area, bonus room, and a 14' by 28' library.
...Just the frame...the finished product...

There is also a full length covered and screened deck on the back that wraps around from the back to a side door, and a half length tiled & stone covered porch for the front entry.  This house is not just another "sheet rock shoe box."  Along with the tile & stone front porch, the exterior boasts natural finish real Cypres lap siding and cedar shingles for accents.  Painted trim that matches the VETTER clad windows and metal roof, and the timber frame porch coverings round out this exciting exterior.  Inside opens up to a real oak floor with tile in the kitchen and baths.  The cabinets are built by a local custom cabinet shop for perfect styling and fit.  The stair system is oak and is a mortise and tenon timber frame system like the rest of the house.
